Technology
Users of the TRADESOFT® dealing system can choose between three popular technologies (Win32, Java, or HTML with JavaScript) depending upon operating system, usage, and installation preferences. Alternatively, organizations may write their own trading software to interface with the TRADESOFT® XML Application Programming Interface.
Software for the dealing system servers consists of C++ applications linked via TCP/IP sockets. The Database technology is Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.
Server configurations for the TRADESOFT® dealing system can range from an inexpensive, dual Windows NT or 2000 configuration to a highly-scaled version that load balances processing across 400 Windows 2000 servers and supports up to 40,000 simultaneous users and can match over 100 trades per second.
Security and Access Control
The TRADESOFT® dealing system utilizes a mature login and access control mechanism that allows parameters to be determined at the institution, account, branch, and user levels. The access control mechanism controls user access to trading, viewing rates, viewing trade information, instrument categories, deal checkout, and trading workstation choices. All network communications are encrypted using 128 bit SSL, and each trading station can be optionally configured to require client side certificates for additional security.
